November was a month of celebrations here at monkey puzzle. We took the time to commemorate Remembrance Day, celebrate Diwali and Hanukkah and enjoy some firework theme activities. As well as focussing on the weather changes and enjoying Autumn in full force.

Our toddlers have been focusing on building their physical development this month. Ladybirds have visited the park and been climbing the ladders, sliding down the slide, balancing and running and jumping off the climbing frame. Gross motor skills are using our large muscles which really help to develop our everyday skills such as dressing and walking.

Our butterflies have been looking at the weather and the different festivals in November by creating a ‘rain cloud’ science experiment, where they had a big tray of water with crazy foam on top, they used pipettes to squirt different coloured water and create ‘rain’. They also baked delicious lemon and poppy seed shortbread biscuits for Remembrance Day and made printed firework art using recycled toilet rolls.
